We’re here to help. The Children’s Home provides specialized counseling services to individuals, families, and children in the areas of adoption, infertility, assisted reproductive technology/third party reproduction, pregnancy loss, donor conception/misattributed parentage (MPE/NPE) and pregnancy decision making. We have also now expanded to providing couples counseling and grief counseling! We are non-judgmental and work with all family types and individuals, without discrimination.

How it works.

Founded in 1893, we have years of experience in providing counseling surrounding family building and adoption and more recently have taken this expertise into other areas. We are uniquely qualified to help you make your story part of your identity, cope with related trauma, grief and loss from your past, and move forward in a healthy manner. We can also help you make decisions as to the next steps in your journey.

 

  • We have both male and female counselors who are all highly trained, master’s level, and licensed.
  • All of our counselors have deep empathy for what your experience has been and are passionate about helping you. Finding a therapist you are comfortable with is key and we would be more than happy to offer a free consultation at any time by phone or virtual.
  • You will find us to be non-judgmental and welcoming atmosphere. We understand that seeking support is hard and we will do everything we can to make you feel comfortable throughout the entire process.
  • We will provide tailored resources (tools, techniques, education) to support your values and vision for your family. You can receive empathy, support, and new coping skills along your journey.

How much does it cost?

The Children’s Home offers a variety of counseling services for all family members. Services range from a single consultation to ongoing support.  A consultation fee is $50.  Ongoing counseling is $120 per session with a generous sliding scale.  Evaluations are $120 per hour.  We will take insurance coming soon!
