For health and safety reasons, The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh cannot accept the following items unless they are new, unused, and in original packaging:

  • Clothing or any other items made of fabric
  • Toys
  • Equipment (car seats, high chairs, bouncers, etc.)
  • Bottles
  • Plush toys must be brand new. We are unable to accept any stuffed animals if they have been exposed to the home (ie. Beanie Baby’s on a shelf)
  • Please Note: We are able to accept gently used books!

If you have any used items to donate, local shelters, churches, and free stores are often in need.

Clothing

The Children’s Home can accept new children’s clothing, sizes preemie – Adult small. Currently, our specific needs include:

  • Long-sleeved preemie to 12 month onesies and pants
  • Zip-up pajamas (with or without feet), especially size newborn
  • 18-24 months Boys soft pants (no jeans)
  • Preemie and newborn layette sets (outfits to bring babies home from the hospital in)
  • Newborn/ Preemie Socks
  • boys size x small, small, medium, large, x-large summer, and winter clothes

Meal Donations/ Canned Goods

We can always use canned good and non-perishable, convenient food item donations. For more information, please refer to our Meal Guidelines or contact Taylor Dozier.
