Chris & Dave

Every Family Has a Story, Welcome to Ours

Our Beginning

We are a couple that met by chance, we were introduced to each other by mutual friends. We lived minutes apart, but had no idea the other existed until one night. Two DiGiorno Pizzas later and right away, we knew we were meant to be. We believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason. Our personalities, values, and long-term family goals were ultimately what made us realize that we had met our missing puzzle pieces.

The Adopting Adventure Begins

As a couple, we have always been the type to create plans and make goals. One major goal of ours is to start a family and become parents. After we married, we made the decision to reach out to The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh and become educated on the adoption process. After what felt like two long years on a waiting list, we received notification that we can begin this amazing journey.

As a part of the adoption plan, we want to be able to openly discuss what type of openness you are or not comfortable with, we are very flexible. Our hearts are open to an adoption of any race, embracing heritages and cultural traditions. We understand that this is an extremely difficult time and decision you are about to make and want to make sure you are at peace with your decision. This is a tremendous life-changing event and we want to be as empathetic as possible.

Our Interests

Throughout our marriage we have always been a fun-loving couple that enjoys the outdoors, long bike rides, walks through our neighborhood, cook outs, spending days at our pool, and generally enjoying quality time together.

Family and friends are the backbone of our foundation. We often talk about how much fun it would be to have a son or daughter to share adventures with. Amusement parks from Cedar Point, to Disney World and Hershey Park are among our favorites. Skipping the rollercoasters for a few years and heading to Kiddy Land is something we can’t wait to do, to see the smile on the child’s face. Building Lego’s is another family activity we enjoy because it has no age limit and are excited to share with a little one. Nascar racing is a sport Dave loves and his family goes to see at local racetracks. Chris is an avid video gamer, a hobby shared by friends and family. In the winter, we participate in activities such as snow tubing. These hobbies are something we hope to share with your child.

A Day in Our Life

We both are lucky enough to work for a company that allows us to work from home. With this in mind, we will be able to have more flexibility when it comes to childcare. We often spend our evenings: cooking dinner together, going for walks in our neighborhood, playing video games, building Lego’s & puzzles, swimming, roasting marshmallows at the firepit, enjoying a Netflix show to whine down the day with each other’s company.

When we become parents, our days will change, there will be a temporary shift, but it will all be worth it. To be parents is a dream of ours that we have had for a very long time. We cannot wait to start a family, and begin to create memories and traditions. Nothing that we write here will make this decision easier for you but please know that if you chose us, we will do everything in our power to make sure that your child has the most amazing parents that they could ever dream of having.

If you are interested in finding out more about us, or want to setup a time to meet, please contact the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh. They can be reached 24/7 by calling or texting (412) 736-2908 or you may send an email to birthparentcounselor@chomepgh.org.
