Located in Pittsburgh’s Friendship neighborhood at The Children’s Home & Lemieux Family Center, all community members are welcome to visit the Inclusive Playground.


What hours are the playground open?

Visitors are welcome from 9:00 a.m. to dusk, 7-days a week. Adult supervision is required at all times for any child 18 years of age or younger.


Where is the playground located?

The Inclusive Playground is located in the backyard of The Children’s Home & Lemieux Family Center: 5324 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15224. While neighborhood parking is available, no parking is permitted in The Children’s Home parking lot unless you have a disability placard displayed in/on the vehicle.


What accessibility features are available?

Accessibility features include double-wide bridges, ramps, ADA swings, a wheelchair swing, ground-level elements and smooth rubber surfacing. For those families with children of special medical needs, parking onsite is permitted with a disability placard on the vehicle, and a walkway from the parking lot to the playground is easily accessible for wheelchairs.


What should I be aware of when visiting the Inclusive Playground:

Please understand that there are no public restrooms available on the premises. Eating, smoking, and drinking of any kind is also not permitted. Finally, patrons visiting the playground understand that they play at their own risk.


Can I bring pets?

We ask that no animals of any kind be brought to the Inclusive Playground at The Children’s Home.
