Thomas began working at The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center in May of 2021 as a Permanency Social Worker. Thomas focuses on preparing families to adopt children from the foster care system, by providing Family Profile, Placement, and Finalization units of service and supporting them throughout the matching and process. Thomas also trains families who are working with the agency’s adoption program, runs orientation meetings, and recruits new families from the community. Lastly, Thomas helps to facilite Post Adoption Contact Agreements (PACA) as part of the placement unit of service. Prior to this position, Thomas completed an internship with A Second Chance, Inc. serving as a Permanency Intern. Thomas earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maine and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University.
