2025-2026 TCH Standard Charges
The Children’s Home does not bill patients or their families for inpatient services with insurance coverage. All co-insurance, co-pays and deductibles are covered. Patients without insurance coverage may qualify for a self-pay rate. Financial assistance is also available. Non-insured patients should call The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh’s business office at 412-441-4884 for a determination.
All outpatients are responsible for meeting their plan out-of-pocket expenses and are responsible for their plan copayments, coinsurances and deductibles.
Shoppable Out-patient Services
The Children’s Home is a pediatric specialty hospital that operates with various waivers. Those waivers limit the services offered to the public. We do offer outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy services, which are offered at $285 per hour. Insurance is accepted and will vary by therapist. All patients are responsible for their out-of-pocket expenses including co-insurance, co-pays and deductibles.
In addition to providing our standard charges, The Children’s Home has also provided information on how we are paid by the major insurers who contract with us to provide services to their insured members who are our patients. Insurers’ payments for hospital-based physician and outpatient therapy services are based on Fee Schedules. Insurers’ payments for hospital inpatient services are based on negotiated per diem rates.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. Because The Children’s Home does not bill its patients for inpatient services, The Children’s Home will provide you with an “Abbreviated Good Faith Estimate.” This Abbreviated Good Faith Estimate includes information on who to contact if you have any billing questions regarding care provided at The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh
If you mistakenly receive a bill for services authorized by The Children’s Home, you have the right to dispute the bill.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
