As we all know, February 14th is Valentine’s Day, a day to celebrate the love we have for one another. This love can be shared between parents and their children, spouses, siblings, neighbors, co-workers, friends, and in many other relationships; including the one between an organization and their donors.
That’s right, what you may not know is February 14th is also National Donor Day! Although this day focuses on organ and blood donations, it is also a day to recognize supporters in any capacity, such as Zachary’s Mission who provides us with adorable “Baby’s First Valentine’s Day Gifts” outfits every year (see pictures above)! As a nonprofit dedicated to their donors, The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center would like to take a moment to thank each and every one of our supporters for their generosity, commitment, and willingness to help those in need. Without you, we wouldn’t have been able to provide hundreds of children and families with care, resources, and support for the last 125 years.
On February 14th, we will celebrate donors like Rob and Cindy Citrone. Rob and Cindy came to The Children’s Home with a large philanthropic background focused on spreading organ and blood donor awareness (making National Donor Day a very important day to them). However, the Citrones have supported many diverse efforts under the family notion of “We were always told that you helped anyone who needed help.” As a presenting sponsor of Shake Your Booties 125th Birthday Party, Rob and Cindy have done just that.
THANK YOU to the Citrone Family and to all of our donors. We hope you all have a very Happy Valentine’s and National Donor day!
