The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center is honored to be the beneficiary of the 5th Annual Birthday Toy Drive! The fundraiser and event are organized by a generous and passionate supporter, Tiff Setzler. The actual toy drive started May 1st and goes until July 17th. On Sunday, July 17th, there will be an end-of-event celebration at The Stacks at 3 Crossing (2875 Railroad Street 15222), from 1pm-5pm. Admission to the event is free, but a toy or monetary donation to The Children’s Home is appreciated. There is parking available across the street at The HIVE for $5.
Tiff and her daughter, Zoie-Lynne, began their Annual Birthday Toy Drive several years ago as a half birthday for Zoie-Lynne and a birthday celebration for Tiff. Zoie-Lynne is now 8 years old and this event has been a way for them to bond and to give back to their community at the same time.
The Birthday Toy Drive has grown immensely this year, with the addition of the in-person celebration. In the past, Tiff organized the toy drive and collaborated with the local community to collect toys and books for children in need. This year, Tiff has gone above and beyond to to coordinate the participation of over 35 vendors, live music, and food trucks to gather in the bustling strip district of Pittsburgh. The celebration will focus on the efforts of the toy drive, allow for the collection of additional items and monetary donations, and raise awareness of The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh in a big way. This will be the largest Birthday Toy Drive that Tiff and Zoie-Lynne have hosted to date.
We encourage the community, supporters and friends to celebrate the day with live music, face painting, caricature artists and enjoy multiple vendors such as Franktuary, PGH crepes, 412 Brewing, Kona Ice, Full Count Threads, and 30 other hometown vendors. There will be a silent auction with several items to choose from and kids will have the opportunity to win free ice cream.
If you can’t make it to the event but wish to donate, there are three locations that you are able to donate to benefit The Children’s Home. Drop off locations are conveniently located at Splat (5301 Brightwood Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102), PGH Print Shop (595 Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15223), and Fun Fore All (8 Progress Avenue, Cranberry, PA 16066). These sites will be accepting donations up until the day of the event on July 17th.
