At The Children’s Home, you can choose to have your home study conducted by qualified staff. The home study can be personalized to meet the needs of the agency, facilitator or attorney you are working with. We have two types of home study services available.

1) Home Study Only– This service includes completion of your home study including collection of all required documentation, drafting of family study document, and submission to designated agency, attorney or interstate adoption office.

2) Home Study Service– This service includes completion of your home study including collection of all required documentation, drafting of family study document, and submission to designated agency, attorney or interstate adoption office. This service also includes support and consultation during your adoption process about specific birthparent situations, open adoption, and any other concerns you might have along the way. It also provides you access to adoption educational classes provided at The Children’s Home and invitations to adoptive family events and support groups held at The Children’s Home.
We also can provide post placement visits and reports after you receive a placement through your placing agency. The number of visits and nature of the report can be tailored to meet the needs of the agency, facilitator, or attorney you are working with.

As the adoption process can be isolating and challenging without a local agency to provide support, The Children’s Home is available to help you along your journey. For more information, or to request The Children’s Home for your home study or post-placement report, contact our Adoption Program at 412-441-4884 or email to Jodi Horn at jhorn@chomepgh.org.
