On Tuesday, July 19, 2011 volunteers from Helping Hands - Healing Hearts assembled "Welcome Bags" for families that have been admitted with their children to The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center. Helping Hands - Healing Hearts promotes quality hospice and palliative care for children with life-threatening conditions through education, information and volunteerism. Helping Hands - Healing Hearts co-leader, Susan Bartlett and volunteers Ann Lewis, Donna Stewart, Elicia Sutton, and Susanna Hegnes, created the Welcome Bags to help families ease stress during their stay at The Children's Home & Lemieux Family Center. The Welcome Bags were decorated in a warm and welcoming manner, filled with useful, everyday items such as food, toothbrushes, magazines, paper, pencils and much more!
The Children's Home & Lemieux Family Center thanks the special volunteers of Helping Hands - Healing Hearts for their generous acts of encouragement and compassion towards our families and their children.
