Noé's Garden of Hope

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center recently welcomed "Noé's Garden of Hope" to its facility. The beautiful Butterfly Garden was made possible by a gift from Jason and Sherry Ott, whose daughter Noé passed away at five months of age due to numerous medical complications. Noé and her parents spent much of her short life at The Children's Home & Lemieux Family Center and the new garden will serve to honor Noé and her brother Shay's memory and provide a continuous source of inspiration and hope to current and future families served by The Children's Home.

"Sherry and Jason Ott are creating a tranquil and inspirational place here where families will find comfort and hope in Noé's story," CEO Pamela Schanwald said. "In five short months, Noé touched countless hearts and inspired so many people. Her Butterfly Garden will ensure her encouraging story will continue to be a source of hope."

An original daisy sculpture is the garden's centerpiece and was created for Jason and Sherry by area sculptor Cliff Dupill of the Athena Garden, who also helped install the garden. The daisy symbolizes the innocent souls of children lost and the green of its leaves – the promise and hope of brighter days ahead. "Noé's Garden of Hope" was installed on May 25 and concluded that afternoon with the Ott's releasing butterflies to their new home in Noé and Shay's honor.
