Local Children's Artwork Featured on Products to Benefit The Children's Home

Our "Kids Helping Kids" art contest just keeps growing! More than 145 young artists submitted a variety of colorful artwork depicting their families and how they help and share with others, all to help the children and families served by The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center.

Local celebrity judges -- including KDKA-TV reporter Dave Crawley, KISS FM 96.1 DJs Mikey & Bob, and University of Pittsburgh athletes Ashton Gibbs and Imani Harper -- selected five finalists’ artwork to be featured on private label packs of note cards, coffee, and fudge. The sale of these items benefits the programs of The Children's Home. The products come in a variety of sizes and make great gifts for parties, co-workers, teachers … or anyone!

All of the children who entered the contest were invited with their families to The Children's Home on October 2 to see all of the wonderful artwork and find out which would be featured on the product labels. Guests were also treated to entertainment by local ventriloquist Chris Donahoe of Backstage Pass Parties and a reading by Dave Crawley from his books, Cat Poems and Dog Poems.
