First Transplant Patient Heads Home with Family

You may have read the recent Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article about pediatric transplant patient Zachary Johnson and his family. Zac was admitted to The Children’s Home’s Pediatric Specialty Hospital in August 2008 while recovering from a multi-organ transplant he received at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. After more than two months at The Children's Home, and more than a year away from their home in Maryland, the Johnsons took Zac home on Nov. 6, 2008, to be with his twin brother, Aidan, and his baby sister, Madeline.
