Stephanie Walker, mother and kidney donor to two-year-old Ryan, is thankful for the care he has received at Child’s Way, The Children's Home & Lemieux Family Center’s daycare program for medically fragile kids. More than one year after the transplant, Ryan’s health is continuing to improve and he looks forward to being at Child’s Way every day. Photos:

To show her family’s appreciation, Stephanie has found a way to give back to The Children's Home. She has created the "Cookbook for a Cause" to raise funds for Child’s Way.
“Child’s Way has allowed us to go back to living our ‘normal’ lives. It has allowed us to trust Ryan with the most experienced nursing care, love and stimulation I could imagine. We have been looking for a way to give back to them,” Stephanie says.
Compiled of recipes from her family and friends and some of the Child’s Way staff, the cookbook is a way for Stephanie to ensure Child’s Way can help other children and families as much as it helped hers. The profits from the cookbook will help Child’s Way provide care for children whose parents cannot afford the cost of these services.
“It was important to us that we were able to make a direct impact in someone’s lives, as Child’s Way has done for us,” Stephanie explains.
In addition to a variety of recipes, the cookbook is filled with colorful artwork created by several children, including Ryan, who have benefited from attending Child’s Way.
Visit The Children's Home's online store and order your copy today! The cookbooks are available for $10 each (for pick-up orders at The Children’s Home) or $13 each if you would like your order to be shipped to you.
