Pittsburgh Penguins Visit The Children's Home

Pittsburgh Penguins, Eric Godard and Jordan Staal, took time away from the ice to make a special visit to The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center.

After a tour of the facility, Godard and Staal visited Child's Way to play with the children at the day care and patients from the hospital. Godard and Staal finger painted, played basketball and soccer, and took turns pushing the kids on swings outside.

“It’s nice to see local athletes supporting The Children’s Home and taking time out of their day to play with the children,” said Pam Schanwald, Chief executive officer of The Children’s Home, as she watched Godard help a child kick a soccer ball.

The players signed autographs before leaving to ensure that the children will never forget the day they played with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
