On Saturday, October 17, 2009, The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center celebrated the 25th Anniversary of its Pediatric Specialty Hospital with an indoor barbeque and carnival. With WTAE-TV News Anchor, Sally Wiggin, on hand to emcee the day’s festivities, guests were treated to prizes, games, and all-day live entertainment. The children had a full day of activities, playing games, winning prizes, and decorating pumpkins. A strolling magician and a balloon artist kept guests entertained and adorned with balloon hats and animals. Through all the excitement, CEO Pam Schanwald honored the hospital’s founder, Dr. Ronald David, for his vision to create a hospital, unique in its ability to offer a family centered care facility in a home-like setting. With a full day of fun, The Children’s Home successfully celebrated the hospital’s 25th year of serving children and their families.
