Beth and Sangeeta

Hello, we are Beth and Sangeeta!
We appreciate you taking the time to read about us. We want to expand our family and have realized that an open adoption is the best avenue for us. While we understand that selecting a family to raise your child is not an easy task, we believe that we can provide the unconditional love, unwavering support, and nurturing that a child will need to succeed.
Our Lives:
We have been in a committed, loving relationship for over seven years. While we recognize that our family is non-traditional, we are quite traditional ourselves. We enjoy the simple things in life like eating home-cooked meals together, running/hiking in the park, attending musicals/plays, traveling, and spending time with family
and friends.
Our Professions:
We met in Pittsburgh as Sangeeta was beginning her pediatric residency and Beth had recently finished her graduate degree in Speech-language pathology. Sangeeta currently works as a neonatologist (a pediatrician who specializes in the care of babies) at a local hospital. Kids have been such an integral part of her professional life. Beth currently works part-time as a speech-language pathologist and probably will stay home when a child does enter our household.
Family:
We were both raised very similarly, where our parents taught us to value education, to be self-sufficient, and to give back to the communities to which we belong. We want to raise our child with these same beliefs to help achieve his/her dreams. Although parts of our families are spread throughout the country (Florida, California, Ohio, Pennsylvania), they are a very strong part of our lives. We enjoy spending our vacations and free time with them and recognize that they are our support system. We are especially lucky to live near Beth’s sister’s family including her two nieces as well as Beth’s mother.
Home:
We currently live in a home near Frick Park that we share with the two other members of our family - our cats, Chai and Queso. Chai has been in our family over 14 years; he is quiet, sweet and very loving. Queso is our rambunctious three-year old cat that adds so much life to our household. He is playful and a bit mischievous, but also very loving. Our neighborhood is kid-friendly, diverse, and has plenty of activities to enjoy. On any given day, the front yards of the homes on our block become the playground of the neighborhood. Living near the park allows us to enjoy the outdoors in a special way.
Future:
Because we are a multicultural/multiethnic family, we are open to the possibility of a transracial adoption. We would continue to celebrate the diversity of our household with our child. We also believe that being open with our child is of utmost importance; therefore, we would like to develop a relationship with the birthparents that would be supportive and engaging.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about us. We hope this has provided you with a better picture of our lives and the life that your child would be joining. We respect and admire you for considering an open adoption. As you are planning your baby’s future, we hope to be a part of it, and look forward to meeting and talking to you someday soon. We are working with the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh, a respected, licensed adoption agency. Please call them anytime at 412-441-4884, or toll free at 1-800-961-7704.
