Featured "Hero" Speaker:
Rick Sebak is an Emmy award-winning film director and producer who lives and works in Pittsburgh and has written, produced, and narrated specials for WQED and PBS, the most acclaimed of which emphasize the rich history and unique charms of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania, for over twenty-five years. Rick's 1988 documentary "Kennywood Memories," became the first film in WQED's "Pittsburgh History Series." Since then, Rick has added over twenty films to the series, all of which highlight the region's people, places, and history. Rick's upbringing in Bethel Park sparked his fascination with the city of Pittsburgh. Not only has Rick's work illuminated Pittsburgh's distinct culture, but it has also allowed Rick himself to become part of the fabric of the region. The Children's Home & Lemieux Family Center
is delighted to honor Rick as this year's Hometown Hero.
