International Adoption Collaborative Training (IACT)

Often, families who are pursuing international adoption find that they must use several different agencies to handle various aspects of the adoption – from the initial search and legal documentation, to a licensed family study and counseling services. Few agencies are equipped to provide in-depth preparation for the issues unique to international adoption.

In response, The Children’s Home, along with Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh and Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Pittsburgh, created the International Adoption Training Collaborative (IACT) in 2006. The group provides prospective adoptive parents with international adoption knowledge and resources to help parent a child from a foreign country.

IACT holds seminars several times per year to help support parents considering international adoption. Visit our calendar of events for upcoming activities, dates and locations.
