Fall-fun week for Childs Way
11/4/2009
To help the kids of Child’s Way® bring in the fall season, the last week of October was packed with all things fun, fall, and spooky. It was a busy week for the children, taking field trips and having special visitors come to them.
To kick things off, Annemarie Hoffman organized a day of fall activities for 17 Child’s Way children on Tuesday, October 27. Held at The Spring House, the children enjoyed a classic hayride, putting everyone in the holiday spirit. They were also treated to lunch and an exploration through a pumpkin patch. As a fitting end to an exciting day, the children enjoyed ice cream, putting a smile on every face.
To keep the fall-fun excitement building, the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh held “Haunts, Hoots, and Howls,” at The Children’s Home on Thursday, October 29. The children watched with enthusiasm as marionette puppets bounced around, talking and performing. After the show, the marionettes were taken through the Child’s Way rooms, reaching out to every child.
As a perfect end to a busy week, Friday October 30 at The Children’s Home was filled with everyone’s favorite holiday sight, children in costume. The children of Child’s Way made their way around the building, Trick-or-Treating through each department. Bags in hand, the children collected everything from play dough and cheese puffs, to stuffed animals and toys.
