Pittsburgh's Day of Giving - October 28, 2009

On Wednesday, October 28, 2009, your contributions to The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center can go even further! Starting at 10:00 am PittsburghGives, a resource of The Pittsburgh Foundation, will host Pittsburgh’s Day of Giving. On this day only, they will match 50 cents of every $1 on any donation of $50 to $2,500. Donations can be made online at www.pittsburghgives.org or at a live public event held at the PPG Wintergarden from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. PittsburghGives helps you make your contribution to The Children’s Home go 50% further.
How to log on and give to The Children’s Home using PittsburghGives:
1) Go to: http://matchday.guidestar.org/.
2) On the top right hand side, click the button “Login”
3) On the right lower side, click “Create Password” NOTE: We encourage you to do this step well ahead of October 28 so that you can login immediately on that day and give. The matching monies are anticipated to be exhausted within an hour.
4) Fill in information and click “Register” ; the site will take you to the login button.
5) On the top right hand side, there is a Find Nonprofits tab in white, enter “Children’s Home.” When the list appears, click on our profile, “Children’s Home of Pittsburgh.”
6) You will see our nonprofit overview; if you’d like to donate immediately, click the blue “Donate Now” button next to our name. Click the “Donate to nonprofit” underneath that button. Note: You are free, at any time, to click on our name, read the review and then click “Donate Now.” You are also free to use this site to donate to The Children’s Home at any time, not just on October 28. Simply click the Donate Now button.
7) Put in the contribution amount. There is a minimum contribution of $50.00
8) Click “Add to Giving Cart”
9) When you are ready to check out –Click “Checkout”
10) You will receive a confirmation email that will be your tax receipt. Please print it out for your tax records.
