SHAKE YOUR BOOTIES 2010

On Saturday, March 20, nearly 400 guests arrived at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse to shake their booties at the ninth annual Shake Your Booties event. Thanks to the generous support from sponsors and attendees, the event raised over $210,000 for the programs of The Children’s Home & Lemieux Family Center.

Event co-chairs Georgette Pascale and Rob Lepre transformed the steakhouse into a 1940's Hollywood lounge complete with antique cars, spotlights, and a red carpet greeting guests at the door. The beautiful spring evening and the view of the river rounded out the perfect setting for a fabulous party.

The evening began with champagne and passed appetizers while guests were entertained by New York City jazz vocalist Allan Harris and Pittsburgh's own Etta Cox.  Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed amazing buffets by Hyde Park and the dance stylings of Absolute Ballroom.

This year, special tribute was paid to Elizabeth Hobbs and Elin Roddey, two long time board members of The Children’s Home, for their years of volunteering and leadership at The Children’s Home. Pam Schanwald, CEO, and Chuck Vater, president of The Children’s Home Board of Directors, presented Elizabeth and Elin with the honor.

Other highlights of the evening included silent and live auctions as well as a unique live donation auction led by Jim Roddey which raised over $25,000 to benefit the programs of The Children's Home.

Thank you to all who helped make the night a great success! Be sure to check out photos, video, and news coverage of the event.
