Kevin and Bethany
Dear Birth Parent,
We are excited about the opportunity to expand our family and appreciate that you might consider us to love and parent your child. We give you the utmost respect for looking to find an ideal family for your child. Thank you for taking the time to hear our story and we wish you the best of luck in your search for the perfect home for your baby.
All about the Family
We have been married for eleven years and remain committed in our love and support of one another. In February 2015 we were ecstatic to welcome our son, Finn, into our lives. He is a sweet, energetic, bright and curious little boy who stole our hearts the minute we laid eyes on him. He loves music, baseball, and anything that involves being outside. He would love to have a sibling to share in the fun!
Most weekends you can find us at the swimming pool, a Pirate game or hanging out with friends in our neighborhood. We each have large extended families and Finn has eleven first cousins. Two of his cousins live right down the street which makes it easy to pick up and head to the Community Park or sled riding hill near our new home in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. We have family gatherings throughout the year including Christmas, birthdays, and the Fourth of July parade. It is heartwarming to watch Finn play with all of his cousins. They have a blast together!
We were lucky enough to be present for Finn’s birth and are fortunate to continue that open relationship with his birthmother. We meet with her several times each year and are thrilled that these visits are a natural part of our routine. Finn knows his birth story and, most importantly, that the decision to place him for adoption was made with love for him.
Becoming parents to Finn has only made us realize how much love there is to give. We are ready to welcome another child into our family and provide the same loving upbringing. We also believe that the bond between siblings will add to the richness of their lives.
Through travel and living in different areas across the country we have gained an exposure to many cultures and ways of life. We are fortunate to have a diverse group of friends and a broad-minded view of the world. We are interested in adopting a child of any race and welcome an open relationship with you if that is your desire.
All about Bethany
Bethany has a degree in Nursing and has enjoyed a varied career in hospitals all across the country. Once she met Kevin, she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him and returned to Pittsburgh so that they could be together.
After Finn was born, Bethany took a position as a nurse case manager for a large health insurance company in Pittsburgh. The best part about this career move is that the job allows her to work from home. This flexibility has been the perfect arrangement because she can stay at home with Finn and not miss a thing with the family. She especially loves that she can continue to care for patients without working a weekend, holiday or night shift. This leaves plenty of time to build memorable moments at her favorite job – being Mommy!
All about Kevin
For the past 20 years, Kevin has been a math and computer science teacher at a local district in Pittsburgh. He has an obvious love for students, going out of his way to assure them success in school and beyond.
Kevin is very goal oriented and has achieved many of his life’s aspirations. After high school, he went on to a successful college baseball career. He returned back to his alma mater as a teacher and a coach. In addition to his mathematics degree, he has earned his Master’s degree in Education and achieved National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult Mathematics.
With holidays and summers off, Kevin has ample time to be the best dad he can for Finn. He would love nothing more than to find a sibling for Finn to play and grow up with.
