Chapter 2: Connor Goes to Child's Way
Declaring himself a courageous little boy from the beginning, Connor came home on April 10, 2009. In order to return to work, Amee found herself searching for a place capable of caring for Connor and his medical needs. Connor was enrolled in Child's Way,® a Pediatric Extended Care Center, at The Children's Home & Lemieux Family Center in May of 2009.
At Child's Way, Connor enjoyed playing with other children, while he participated in developmental learning and received his therapies. The skilled staff of Registered Nurses and Child Care Associates at Child's Way create a typical day care environment, while the medically fragile children who attend have the expert care they need.
With his walker in hand, Connor quickly showed everyone that despite the limitations he was born with, he was anything but limited. His story was far from over.
