Scott and Kathy

Scott and Kathy

Hello,

We are Kathy and Scott and we would like to thank you for reading our letter. We know that you love your child very deeply and admire your decision to consider an adoption plan for him or her. We hope that this letter will help you get to know us and assure you that we can give your child a home filled with plenty of love, laughter and support.

Our Story

Scott and I met as teachers working for the same school district. He teaches history and I teach music. After getting to know each other at work, we decided that we wanted to spend more time together. We soon realized that we wanted to get married and share our lives with each other.

One of the things that we love to do is travel. We have a lot of fun exploring other parts of the country and going overseas. We also like to attend sporting events together. We enjoy going to PNC Park to watch the Pirates – even though they seem to lose a lot!

Scott and I love kids (it’s why we became teachers). We always knew that we wanted to have a family. After dealing with infertility issues, we are looking forward to building our family through adoption.

About Scott (by Kathy)

One of the things that I love about Scott is that he is a fun-loving guy. He’s always got something funny to say and certainly has me laughing a lot at home.

I also admire Scott as a fellow teacher. He has high expectations for his students, but he also kids around with them. I can tell that they really like him. It’s typical for his students to go out of their way to say “hi” when we attend school events.

One of Scott’s favorite things to do is visit historical sites. Luckily, I also love to do this as well. He enjoys playing sports, particularly tennis. Scott loves watching the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. He can even tell you scores and plays from games that happened years ago.

About Kathy (by Scott)

Kathy simply loves kids and family. She’s always wanted to be a mom and can’t wait to be one. She is constantly talking about her nieces and nephew and is very excited when she has an opportunity to visit with them.

Kathy is a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher. She looks forward every year to the start of a new school year. She instills in her students the importance of appreciating music and working hard to be successful.

Kathy is also involved in her church. She volunteers in the church choir and cantors on a regular basis. She loves to sing and help others learn music. Kathy also loves to read! When she has spare time, she is always reading and learning. I would say this is her favorite hobby.

Our Home

We can’t wait to open our home to a new little person. Our fenced-in backyard is great for playing catch or games of tag. At our annual 4th of July party all of our nieces, nephew and young cousins love to roll down our hill. We also have a beautiful pond with lots of fish. It’s peaceful and relaxing to sit nearby and listen to the waterfall.

Family Life

Our parents live a short drive away and are looking forward to having a new grandchild to love and “spoil.” We enjoy getting together with our siblings and their kids. Kathy’s brother lives in Ohio and there are frequent trips back and forth. My sister lives a bit closer and we have great times visiting with her family, too. There are also lots of friends and cousins living nearby; we’re always getting together for holidays and birthdays.

We believe that every child is a unique individual with special talents and strengths. We look forward to nurturing those talents in our adoptive child – whether it be playing sports, creating art, playing music or dancing. We also want to help our child develop healthy self-esteem, a sense of responsibility and strong values. We plan to raise our child in the Catholic faith.

Thank You

Thank you again for reading our letter. Please know that if you choose to place your baby with us, we will provide a warm, supportive home filled with unconditional love. We are also willing to discuss a level of openness that is comfortable for all of us. Regardless, your child will always know how much you love and care for him or her.
